PAN Card, Aadhaar Card, Educational certificates and marriage/birth/death/divorce certificates, etc., can be attested by the Embassy.
To get these documents attested by the Embassy, they first are to be attested by officials in the Home Department of the concerned State Government (in case of educational certificates, attestation is done by the Ministry of Education, New Delhi). After State Government's attestation, the documents need to be attested by the CPV Division of the Ministry of External Affairs of Government of India, located at Patiala House in New Delhi.
After the above-mentioned attestations from two authorities, the Embassy of India is empowered to attest the documents, for which the individual needs to fulfil following conditions:
§ Submit the document to be attested
§ Fill up and submit Miscellaneous Services Form (available in the link 'Application Forms' under subhead ‘Other Forms and Affidavits’ - item number 1)
§ For Indian passport holders: original passport (if personally coming to Embassy), a photocopy of the first and last pages of the passport and visa copy/ For Swedish passport holders: original passport (if personally coming to Embassy), a photocopy of the passport and a copy of first and last pages of OCI card (if applicable)
§ Submit a proof of bank-giro payment of SEK 121 in BG No. 5816-4930
§ The documents are to be submitted by the applicants between 10.00 hrs - 11.00 hrs. The time to collect the documents is between 16.00 hrs - 17.00 hrs, but on the date informed to the individual by the official on the counter [Please book an appointment before visiting the Embassy ]
§ In case the applicant wishes the document to be sent back to him/her by post, he/she is liable to deposit a self-addressed adequately-stamped envelope
§ Applicant can apply for the service by sending all the documents via post
§ Processing Time: at least three working days
