Check list for the documents for newborn child in Sweden/Latvia

1. Duly filled in and signed online application form at https://embassy.passportindia.gov.in/

2. PDF generated registration of Birth of the Child to be signed by both parents. (web link for registration of birth of the child is https://indiancitizenshiponline.nic.in)

3.One passport-size (2 inch x 2 inch) recent colour photographs with frontal view of the full face with white/light background with dark coloured dress and one photo to be pasted on the application form

4. Hospital Discharge Certificate or first two pages of the Forlossningsjournal

5. Self-attested copy of Marriage Certificate of parents. If issued in Sweden/Latvia, the marriage certificate should be duly apostilled.

6. Self-attested copies of current valid passports of parents (first & last page)

7. Self-attested copies of parents' Residence Permit/ Work permit front & back side

8. Declaration by Applicant's Parents for Passport to Minors

9. Proof of payment of SEK 758/- (for 36-page booklet and registration of birth Bank Giro No. 5816-4930

10. Latest Personbevis in English (Extract of Population Register) issued by Skatteverket (having child’s name) for Residents of Sweden

11. One Local address proof in English for Residents of Latvia

12. In case the applicant wishes the document to be sent back to him/ her by post, he/ she is requested to send a self-addressed envelope bearing a bar code number with waybill (Rekommenderat brev) generated through Post Nord

https://portal.postnord.com/skickadirekt). 

In case, you are unable to print the rekommenderat brev, it can be sent through email at ppt[dot]stockholm[at]mea[dot]gov[dot]in. 

Note:
(a) To obtain an Indian Passport for a new-born child, it is essential to first register the birth of the  child within one year for obtaining the Indian nationality.

4. Click on link that appears.

5. Click on Initiate application for filling fresh application (explore other options available there if necessary).

(b) To get a child registered as an Indian national, at least one of the child's parents must be an Indian citizen.
