The Embassy organized a business networking event in Riga on February 27, 2018 to follow-up on the visit of the Prime Minister of Latvia to India in November 2017.  This was the first ever visit of a Latvian Prime Minister to India.  The Latvian PM was accompanied by a business delegation and in addition to bilateral meetings, attended World Food India 2017 and visited Maharashtra also.  As the main theme and focus of the visit was on strengthening of the economic and commercial cooperation between Latvia and India.  Thus the Embassy event was to bring together all the relevant stakeholders, network, brainstorm and exchange ideas towards realization of this combined objective.  The event was attended by a sizeable number of over 100 persons including senior government officials representing cross-section of relevant Ministries and departments, Member of Parliament, media, business and industry,  chambers of commerce, and Indian businesses. Second Secretary (Commercial) and Director General for Bilateral Relations Directorate, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia addressed the gathering.
